“Clover” album review by leading Polish newspaper

Dear friends in Music,

Aleksandra & The Belgian Sweets with the Strings

I’m very happy to share a review of our new album from the leading Polish newspaper!

“Aleksandra Kwasniewska comes from Bielawa and has lived in London for over a decade. She released two albums: the debut album “Island Girl” in 2008 and “The Sky is on Fire” in 2012.
She focused on a mix of pop, jazz, bossa nova, fado and poetry on both albums.
Her new album, recorded with the Belgian band The Belgian Sweets, is also poetic, with the reign of calm and acoustic atmospheres supported by the soundscapes of strings.
The songs are based on the piano (“Right Here, Right Now”, film composition “Clover”) and on the guitar (“Melody” and “Who Wants me to Love Him”).
For pop-seeking audience there is a ballad “Rain” and for poetry enthusiasts there are poems by Jan Twardowski, Julian Tuwim and Boleslaw Lesmian.
The vocalist doesn’t have a large audience in Poland. It is a pity, because her ambitious music is worth the attention. The new album is an opportunity to get a better look at – and listen to – a Lower Silesia born vocalist living in London.”
